WHAT?! It kinda makes sense if it’s like that. Isn’t there RouteNote alternatives or is that the only one?

There are some alternatives to RouteNote, but the difference is that RN was free… but it was still just too inconvenient.

@OVERSCORE Why can’t they just fix RouteNote?

They probably don’t care all that much if a NewGrounds artist who has earned $20 total decides to stop using it lol

@OVERSCORE Classic example of ensh**tification. They decide to make their service worse.

Man, that sucks. I am aware of RouteNote's pretty bad services: a couple of friends of mine produced a joke rap album (which I helped produce/fully produced a couple of the beats for) that they have tried to release through RouteNote and it's been 1-2 weeks since then with no updates on whether the damn thing has even been processed. The fact a music distributor whose sole appeal is that it is free cannot, on top of releasing your stuff in a timely manner, get you many listens or options/tools for your own releases is not very surpising.

It is sad that you do not intend to release stuff on streaming services for the time being, but hey, whenever you have 20 bucks to spare you could always switch to DistroKid ($20 is enough for their year subscription with access to all their "goodies" and most importantly you can update audio files or change releases entirely if you wish).

TL;DR - RouteNote sucks, and no one would be using it if it wasn't free. Save up for DistroKid instead.

Yeah, I’ve also had to wait weeks for any updates on tracks… but I had to just go with it for a year bc it was free. For now, being an NG-only artist is enjoyable, so I’m not going to stress myself with RouteNote.
I have heard that DistroKid is more user-friendly/convenient! It seems like the best distributor, and for a pretty low price. I am very likely to use it later on :)
I am still on SoundCloud tho!
