Well, it’s the end of another crazy year! This year, like all of them, has seen some ups and downs. In my music, a lot of high moments! In my personal life, I had my fair share of lows. However— every moment, independent of circumstance, is a gift, and a moment to be remembered, pondered, and celebrated. So, let’s get on with it!
The first half of this year was characterized, in all aspects, by a lack of motivation. And the back 9, a newfound inspiration and passion for music.
I really stagnated, in every part of my life, during most of the winter. Not a single track was created until MARCH! And even that track was not all it could’ve been, if we’re being honest. The most important thing that happened that whole time was @Tydaze gifting me supporter status, allowing me to change my username. Thank you so much!
Spring, I hesitantly started creating music again. Nothing truly frontpage-worthy, and nothing I’m all that proud of.
Summer was my most demotivated season. I couldn’t tell you one thing I did the whole time. Not proud of the first few months of 2024, and I apologize to all of you for not giving you much content, in quantity or quality!
However, as the school year began, I decided to turn the year around.
I’d say the catalyst of my upward trend this year was the making of my song, when i dont have the words. Like it says in the description, I enjoyed creating this track SO MUCH, and knew the whole time it was my best work. I put every second of free time into that project and I loved it. That experience inspired me to pour myself ever more into the pursuit of music. That fall, I signed with the label Breakstation to release an album, out of mind.
Winter is where things really started to pick up. I settled into a friend group who appreciates music as much as I do, starting singing at the piano, found an entirely new music taste that has inspired me and captivated me, began writing an album from scratch, even started learning guitar!
Overall, these last few months have been truly wonderful, and brought about an amount of love and passion for music that I don’t think I’ve ever felt before.
Of course, I definitely wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am now without the constant support and feedback of you guys here on NewGrounds! This community keeps me going, and there are a few people within it that I want to specifically mention. A special thanks to:
@Aalasteir, for having me on that amazing interview. You’re doing a service for all of NG.
@BuryBoyGD, for all the kind words on my music, and being a great friend in general
@CreeperForce24, for good advice and honest reviews. Congrats on 500 fans!
@datboi7os, for thoughtful reviews and showing me what true atmosphere looks like, you’re a master!
@Dynamic0, for the endless amount of positivity you share with me.
@G2961, for so many uplifting reviews, and inspiring me with the insane amount of quality songs you release each WEEK
@Solacitude, for the invaluable wisdom you’ve shared with me on playing the piano. You’re an amazing composer and musician, and one that I look up to.
@SpeedoRH, for being with me from the beginning and carefully advising me every step of the way. There’s no way I could have improved this fast without your guidance.
@vekoN, for your friendship and for showing me that it IS possible to make bangers on SunVox
Without you guys, none of this would have been possible. Thanks for being so good to me this year.
I wouldn’t say I have any concrete plans for 2025, but I have some big goals. Firstly, the release of inevitable, inescapable. Guys, this album is REALLY coming together. I’d say I’ve finally settled on a style that I really like. I am working on this project almost constantly! I’m not sure when it will be ready, but I’m hoping to release it in March. It’s an emotional one, that’s for sure.
I also aim to have a music setup, complete with a PC, FL Studio, MIDI controller keyboard, and a mic, sometime this year. It’ll be probably $2500+, so I’m working hard for it. Once I’ve got it, I’ll be practicing indietronica production, the genre of my dreams.
But I’ll still be creating music as OVERSCORE, but I’ll devote most of my time to that. I hope to take my music production to the next level with that, but I’ll need years of experience with it first.
While this year didn’t start off the best, I am proud of the way I’m ending it. I know I haven’t posted any audio in a long time, but that’s not because I haven’t made anything— I’m working harder than I ever have before! You’ll understand soon.
Let’s make next year my best year yet!
COMING SOON…

This has been a crappy last 3 days…
A while back, I submitted tracks for the NGADM and NGUAC, and before that, the AIM contest. The scores for all three of those came back at the same time and turns out I wasn’t anywhere close to making it into the first two, and I got an even worse placement than last year in AIM (although there were about 40 more people).
That has just left me feeling extremely discouraged… I’ve put so much time and effort into improving my craft, basically my whole life. Music is pretty much my “thing,” and has been for a long time. It has such an impact on my life and has always been my biggest interest. And yet I am STILL not good at making it.
No, I’m not going to quit.
But I need to take a short break. I put a lot of my self-worth on these tracks, and this really is a blow. I need some time.
