I mean, there’s not really much animation here…

Simoes1000 responds:

beause this is actually an animutation.

This is unironically so much funnier with the bootleg version of the song, very glad I watched this lol

Loved literally every bit of this so much!! Also if I may ask, what the hell happened at 14:29?! I was dying laughing, but also what 🤣

Luigi

UnculturedMutt responds:

1 million out of 5 stars. This was one of the most meaningful half hours of my life. The story and premise are beautiful, the drawings are simple (in a good way,) and overall this really has helped. This is beautiful. Thank you.

I’m obsessed with the way you mix your incredible vocals into these tracks!! There’s so much personality here, keep it up!

WAVOID responds:

I can probably show you my process if you have discord, just shoot me a DM

Beautiful instrumentation, I love how the piano chords mesh with the erhu- an instrument I’d never heard of before today, but it sounds LOVELY. Super bubbly composition, definitely gives off a hopeful mood. Nice work, keep it up!

Nice use of bitcrush on those arps! This is a very nostalgic sound palette. The mix is quite congested though, I have a few recommendations on how to fix that. First is, of course, making better use of the stereo field. Second, those huge reverb sounds of the arps and your lead are competing— you need to make sure they don’t occupy the same frequencies, or use the reverb wet as a layer and give it a more distinct sound. Maybe turn the volume of the arps down when that other melody is playing.
The noisy, bitcrushed drums are lovely, they give the track a nice peppy feel. The transients are noticeably weak though, the snare feels like almost more of a click— so you COULD turn up the drum volume a bit (especially in that second drop, the side-chain alone is just taking off a lot of space in the mix) and give those transients a little more presence and character.
Very nice song, WaterCrest (should I call you that now??), I’m looking forward to hearing more of your tracks!!
Also, good luck in NGUAC! There are so many participants this year…

SnipeshotGames responds:

I updated this like 5 times, one of them turning the drums down because they were like REALLY loud before, but yeah i get what youre saying

Also yep, Watercrest is my new Alias 8)

I am so honoured to be an American (please get the joke 🤣)

Creeperforce24 responds:

I don’t, am tbh, inside, I’m not

Woah, that looks so good!! You’ve matched the color palette and style perfectly. Fun way to celebrate Splatoon 3’s third kits update!

I think the character could stand out against the background a little better, and you could perhaps use the background to help show the perspective, provide context ig. The dramatic shading is really cool though, especially in the second version (because you can see it better)! And of course, you can’t go wrong with a guy holding a gun toward the camera. Nice job!

EDIT: ohhhh, my bad, didn’t know the character and assume Madison to be a girl name lol. Sorry!

PizzaPasta100 responds:

Thank you very much! I love the advice you gave! :3

Also, that's a guy btw.

Edit: You're fine! Madison is mainly a girl's name anyways! :)
