Every bit of this beat is CRAZY in the best way possible

If THIS is a downgrade, can’t freaking WAIT to check out the rest of your discography. And congrats on being on Spotify! Getting into streaming services for the first time is a hell of a feeling fs. Worth a follow, keep it up!

eurus0 responds:

thank you so much! you're right about that, it feels ecstatic!

I like how serene everything feels, definitely fits that beautiful description. The repetition in the drums has a rather soothing effect to it. The track flows nicely as well. Awesome song, congrats on the deserved frontpage!

crispybatteryacid responds:

Thanks my homeslice g dawg hoodlum hood homie!

What an emotionally gratifying piece! The whole first half feels like a journey, and the second half the destination. I absolutely adore the guitar melodies! Only critique is that I think the mix could have some more presence in the higher frequencies, but that might just be a preference thing. I love this track, keep it up!

crispybatteryacid responds:

I'm glad you liked the guitar, I was trying to decide if it wotked or not.

higher frequencies, huh?

...

i see how it is

I’ve never heard hyperpop dnb before, but I like it! Fusing these two genres was a really cool idea that you executed well here. Amazing track!

This is a pretty song, I really love the lyrics. The waltzy feel is also neat. The melody is very haunting like the previous reviewer mentioned, which is perfect for the vibe you were going for! Also, I love your voice… you’re truly talented.
A few critiques:
The vocals just don’t seem to flow all that well. In places, it just feels awkward. This is because the notes you are holding or putting emphasis on do not match up with the emphasized syllable of the word you’re singing… does that make sense? So bear that in mind when you’re writing your vocals. Secondly, the piano feels a little monotonous, flat. I’d recommend adding a bit of dynamic variation, and maybe a soft bit of reverb. You could also unquantize it slightly for a more human feel. All just suggestions!
You have a really cool sound that I would love to see you develop. Keep it up, Kekeyz!

Kekeyz responds:

Thank you so much for the comment!!!! The emphasis thing was just that I was looking for something really weird to fit the melody; to be nonstandard and see what happens 😵‍💫. Thank you for the tips about the keyboard, I do also think they sounded flat. I tried to do a bit of unquantizing but it just not sounded the way a human would play it, but I think I'm constantly learning about it and what you said will help me a lot, I think. Thank you for all the compliments and suggestions and as a bye, I encourage you to go hear my newest song.!! Bye

Love the experimental sound design you pair with these breaks!

Drums feel a little quiet, but I am DIGGING this epic melodic dubstep sound! The chords feel so big. Would totally recommend adding some other synths in those chord stacks and/or put in some different notes than your typical triad, to give it that lush feel.
I really like how the melody progresses throughout the song, never quite repeating, always building to something. The lead sounds just as big as the rest of the track, and stands out very well.
Compositionally, I would’ve liked to hear some different chord progressions, some different sections, because as it stands this song feels like one long A section.
Last thing— SUB BASS! That low bass would give this song so much more atmosphere, and it already feels really atmospheric.
This song has a lot going for it, I just think a few changes could push this work to the next level!

Those slightly unquantized-feeling drums are so cool, I wanna lead with that. Heck, everything about this track is cool. The unique time signature, and the fact that the arps and lead sound like their constantly changing… love all the filters you put on everything. Oh, and the bass! That’s right, ALL of this song hits. Keep it up!!

Stapless responds:

thanks mate 😁

Yeah there are mixing problems present, but… the main elements of this song are so strong that it’s a banger anyway! Can’t say anything that previous reviewers haven’t already said.
