Dude your sound design just blows me away… like I can’t even dream of how you would go about making these sounds on SunVox, with NO SAMPLES?? The dark major chords add some tension to the song very nicely, on the compositional side— the introduction of the choir is very subtle as well, very neat.
But the growls and devilish fills really steal the show for me, this is some of the sickest dubstep you’ve ever done and I hope it places high in the competition!

vekoN responds:

i'm so incredibly happy you loved it! and yeah it took some tweaking to get it to sound the way it does

These tangled melodies are so gorgeous… you intertwined them in such an intricate way, I absolutely love this compositional work. Beautiful!

Solacitude responds:

I tried to make these two celli complementary as much as possible without losing realism and within what the library can offer.
Thank you very much for your kind words it means a lot! :D

There are so many samples in this, I absolutely could not stop laughing… the song is super upbeat and goofy, so considering you were going for OMFG’s style I’d say you nailed it!
I think it’s smart that you keep track of what you learn from each track, that’s a good way to keep improving. There’s not too much variation throughout the song, but for this style of track I think that’s fine.
Keep learning and improving, you’re doing great! I think this is a little too silly for my tastes tho lol

PotangNG responds:

Yooo Overscore! Very glad to have made you laugh, that's one thing I leaned into while making this track! This is probably one of the stupidest songs I've ever made! Thanks for taking a listen and leaving a review!

I have literally zero critiques, this is absolutely stunning. When that snare came in, you should’ve SEEN the stank face I made

SoTshu responds:

trust me, I had the same reaction when I was making this lol

Lovely use of orchestral elements, all of the sound fonts are very realistic! I also think you nailed it with the dynamics of this one, the range in the volume of the song really makes those climaxes impactful. Great work, 50Steaks!

50Steaks responds:

The beginning is actually just the solo string soundfonts! Hopefully they sound decent lol. I actually had to increase the volume of the intro just to keep it semi balanced. Added percussion to the first chorus to make it stand out less when it came in later. Just overall things to make the piece flow better. Thanks for listening and enjoying!

Congrats on first place feature on the frontpage! I really like all of the chiptune elements to this, it gives the song an almost cute vibe. Mix is SUPER clear, hats off to you for making this technically incredible! And besides all this, it also just goes REALLY hard… really fun sound, keep it up Calico!

EDIT: oh wait yeah looks like KETAMINE is first now. But hey you were the top spot for a while

Calico responds:

thanks, but also what does “first place frontpage” mean, cuz for me every time i go on the audio portal all the songs are in different order

Wow, those samples huh… heard it on the grapevine that you got the GOOD stuff, looks like the rumors were true. Mind telling me where you find these?

Quarl responds:

I have no idea what you're talking about, I don't talk to cops.

Love the calm guitars and laid-back drum pattern! As usual, superb production that perfectly gets that mood you were going for. Some parts feel slightly off-putting in all the right ways, suiting the title very well. Super cool track, keep it up!

crispybatteryacid responds:

Thanks man!

Sounds super cheerful and optimistic! In some sections, that placeholder melody has a bit too much reverb I think, but other than that it sounds great! You could definitely try to get someone to sing this, but you might have to tweak the melody a bit. I can really tell that a lot of thought went into this. Keep it up, Voidend!

VoidendSound responds:

Thanks man, im still thinking in the lyrics!

As usual, super clean and atmospheric world of sound! Your sound design is just always on point. As for the writing, having the bass play some of the same notes as the main melody was a REALLY cool effect. It made that melody feel so resonant and important. Awesome remix here, can’t wait to hear what else you have for us this March!

S0MBRASOUNDS responds:

Yay! I'm so glad you like this one too! Happy you noticed the bassline. I love to make basslines with a lot of pitch movement :)

I have 4 songs coming up at the end of March. Rollout starts in a few days. Thank you for the support as always 🤍
