You’ve established such a nice groove here, between the laid-back drum beat, the piano, and all of the other cool elements you intersperse throughout the song. In some spots, the piano composition felt almost TOO spontaneous, almost random, but you always brought it back on track.
Now here’s the advice I always give to everyone: I would totally recommend experimenting with the panning! Feel free to fill up that stereo field, you can really take this song to the next level with just a few panning adjustments!

Latadenata responds:

Thank you so much for the review! I really appreciate it, and I'll keep the panning advice! ;)

Love the intense orchestral breakbeat! Both of you guys make such cool music individually, but together you have created something truly unique. The contrast of chiptune leads and wind instruments is such an interesting effect. Keep it up, both of you! This style blend is HEAT!!

EDIT: @creeperforce24 that’s not what I said man, please don’t quote me incorrectly to say that your music isn’t good… because I love your music dude

Creeperforce24 responds:

Thanks! I’m glad you like it, I for some reason can’t help but add orchestra into every song I make lol XD

This NG music championship is already one of my favorite events on this site due to the incredible amount of collabs I’ve seen. This one I would have never expected, but you clearly worked incredibly well together! Solacitude’s incredible composing and piano adeptness, and crispy’s insanely creative production and musicianship— youre both so talented, and this collab absolutely showcases that for both of you. Amazing work!

crispybatteryacid responds:

thank you very much my homeslice hood g! im glad you enjoyed!

This song is wonderfully unpredictable, from the unconventional chord progressions to the spontaneous structure of the track. I never know what’s going to happen next, and giving someone that feeling is incredibly difficult from a compositional standpoint. The complexity of this track really pushes it to the next level! You did an absolutely amazing job writing and producing this, can’t wait to hear what else you have for us this year!

TheMordent responds:

Thank you so much :) I like to keep each second fresh, so I hope it doesn't sound too incohesive! I hope to write some more repeatable tracks soon, as this style takes a long time, oh well!

THE LEGEND IS BACK
I seriously love everything about this remix, the production is top-notch as usual! Love the clean drops... the growls you used are perfect! Every bit of the ambient sections are beautifully immersive. This is exactly how DnB is meant to sound, you've executed this remix perfectly. You better reach the podium with this one, wish you best of luck in the contest!

EspyoNG responds:

Yessir! I am really glad you love this remix so much, because I put so much of myself in it, especially in the sound design. I tried to not over-complicate the atmospheric stuff; I just kinda layered 3-4 instruments maximum, and it gives everything so much space. The fact you think MY remix is where DnB is at is insane, thank you so much! <3

Let's get that top spot with this one! >:D

I like the arpeggios, but some of the notes are really dissonant. Make sure to brush up on some theory, the fundamentals are always important!
Overall a pretty simple song that is just fine being simple! For me it would be called “That song that plays when you encounter the person who zero-bombed your song when you were 12” lol

EDIT: I just learned from my piano teacher, but I've heard musictheory.net is good too. There also plenty of videos on the subject. Honestly, scales are the most important thing to learn!

AFasterSlowpoke responds:

Do you know some good websites or videos where I can learn theory and check if my notes/chords are consonant?
I would prefer one that has letters along with sheet music because I can also barely read sheet music :P

This dark, psytrance-ish feel is an incredible change from your normal, how did you even do this?! The theming for this whole project is also so well executed, all of it really makes for a one-of-a-kind listening experience. Keep this up!!

VariableGR responds:

I started to implement a style more rooted in my beginnings, where the music had to make you feel a story or an anecdote.
I loved playing a lot with the dog effects and more because I haven't achieved something as great as Randoms Mushroom

This is so cool… I LOVE the strong theming of this track! I also found the way you gradually build the track up to one climactic trance drop very neat. The pads are beautiful by the way, I know that’s your specialty. Only critique I can give is more of a preference thing, maybe the snare in the drop at 1:51 should be less clicky?
I’m glad you decided to branch out of your normal style, because this really is a uniquely beautiful song!

eurus0 responds:

I'm glad you liked it! I learned a lot from making this one especially from the fact that I made the drop and the pads first and had to find a way to make them work together, I will definitely make more themed songs like this

This is a LOT of variation for one synth, I guess limitation really does foster creativity! Or at the very least, you definitely know your way around a 3xOsc… huge respect!

izxwav responds:

Thanks a lot!!
My most creative stuff does come when I have some sort of fun limitation hahah :D

I love the use of that piano motif, it never gets old and provides great context for the rest of the elements. The heavily-reverbed vocals sound really trippy and interesting. Youve created a really unique mood for this track with the entrancing instrumentation and somewhat funky chords, one that I really enjoy. Your style is amazing!

NairyBaptiste responds:

Thanks! <3
