This is so cool… I LOVE the strong theming of this track! I also found the way you gradually build the track up to one climactic trance drop very neat. The pads are beautiful by the way, I know that’s your specialty. Only critique I can give is more of a preference thing, maybe the snare in the drop at 1:51 should be less clicky?
I’m glad you decided to branch out of your normal style, because this really is a uniquely beautiful song!

    eurus0 responds:

I'm glad you liked it! I learned a lot from making this one especially from the fact that I made the drop and the pads first and had to find a way to make them work together, I will definitely make more themed songs like this

This is a LOT of variation for one synth, I guess limitation really does foster creativity! Or at the very least, you definitely know your way around a 3xOsc… huge respect!

    Thanks a lot!!
My most creative stuff does come when I have some sort of fun limitation hahah :D

I love the use of that piano motif, it never gets old and provides great context for the rest of the elements. The heavily-reverbed vocals sound really trippy and interesting. Youve created a really unique mood for this track with the entrancing instrumentation and somewhat funky chords, one that I really enjoy. Your style is amazing!

    NairyBaptiste responds:

    Thanks! <3

This is so mellow… the crowded instrumentation and the slight distortion are used very tastefully here to create a really trippy, floating-in-space atmosphere that I really enjoy. Really nice beat!

    Appreciate the review boss!!

The vibes are KILLER on this, love the synthwave-like jam! Every bit of this is soothing. Keep up the consistently amazing work!

    GaviteHawk responds:

thx man, super happy you thoroughly enjoyed it!

This is one of the coolest things I’ve heard this month, INSTANT follow. The intro is so immersive, and the drop has some actually PERFECT sound design. Very less-is-more approach, and except the few elements you used all hit incredibly hard. Absolutely stellar production, keep it up!

    SoTshu responds:

you don't know how much this means to me! thank you so so much!

Taking a listen to some of your other recent tracks, and dude I still cannot get over how cool your style is. This NEO-NOIR sound youre developing— KEEP DEVELOPING IT, I love every song I’ve heard so far. Your production is always amazing, with such immersive and gloomy sounds. Great work S0MBRA!

    S0MBRASOUNDS responds:

Thank you soooo much. I'm really happy that you're enjoying the music so far. I have plenty more on the way :)

Love the strong sidechain and granular synthesis combo you used here… absolutely creates some SUPER unique sounds, and a really immersive feel. The sound design on the pads reminds me of brakence. Can’t get over this production, keep it up!!

    overkneeee responds:

    thanks!

Love the glitchy percussion and dark ambience. The melody is super creative as well! I don’t know if it has to be 5:50, but it never got TOO repetitive. And since this is a soundtrack, it doesn’t need to be too complex. Simple and groovy track, I like it!

    MasterHand4444 responds:

Only reason it’s 5:50 is because it loops, since it’s an OST hehe. But I see what you mean! Very glad you like it :)

The synths here are really nice, and the drums certainly set the mood. Sounds very spaced out, immersive, and menacing. I like the progression, and overall mood of the track. Trouble is, the mix is very muddy! There are a lot of conflicting frequencies, making your individual instruments and melodies difficult to make out. They are also all on the same spot on the stereo plane, so try to experiment with the panning of your instruments next time!
One thing that could alleviate some of the congestion in the mix is EQ-ing out the low frequencies of your reverb. Having a low shelf filter in there could drastically improve this.
My mixing advice is still one word: SPACE!! All of your elements need space, whether in the EQ or the stereo field.
Not perfect, but a very neat concept! There is a lot of creativity here, it’s just being hindered by the production issues. Keep at it, watch some more tutorials, you’ve got this!

    Mesage responds:

Thanks for an advice, I'm working on learning mixing now
