Thought I’d write a review on one of your finished tracks, just to see what your songs look like at the end of your process.
I like the intense techno vibe! Like some of your others, you build this one up instrument by instrument, keeping listeners entertained until your big finish. I like your composing style, it’s simple but so effective!
I also love that mellow synth that comes in around 0:55. It flows really well, keeping with your acidic theme. And the harder drums that kick in near the end are a great way to end the track.
So structurally and compositionally I’d say this is all I need from a 2 minute concept track like this!
So where you started to lose me was the mix. There’s a LOT more low-frequency presence than high-frequency, for starters. With all of your instruments occupying those same general low frequencies, everything starts to sound really muddled down there.
I would also recommend making a bit more use of panning, because this track just feels paper-thin in my headphones. Making use of that panning can really do wonders in keeping the listener entertained.
Lastly, a complaint on the drums. It’s the hihats— they sound very robotic. Many a producer will tell you that randomizing the volume a bit solves this very well! You can also lower their volume a bit.
This is a very fun track, I enjoyed listening to all of it! I hope this review helps in any way, I only critique you this much because you’ve got a lot of potential to make even more fun songs. Keep at it man!

Pentalogue responds:

Thank you so much for such a great review! I will take all this into account.

Like how this song builds, introducing new elements gradually. Every new melody gives more context for all the others. Then the switchup at 1:28 prepares us for whatever you’re going to add on next.
The piano does get a bit monotonous after a while, and with all that repetition the melody becomes a bit grating. I would recommend changing it up or dropping it entirely in some sections, but it’s up to you.
Can’t wait to hear what you create next, Pentalogue!

Pentalogue responds:

Thank you!

Late congratulations on hitting 500 fans!!
EDIT: 🤣🤣🤣 also, Tenement already had a 5 star from me, and a bunch of others that I had voted on but not actually reviewed :)

Edit, oh NICE!

There’s nothing wrong with posting calming beats, just create whatever music you feel! We could all use a little calm sometimes ;)
The congos really are a nice touch though. In fact ALL of the instrument choices are really fitting for this track. The wave sound effects add a lot to the mood as well. Soothing and satisfying, keep it up!
EDIT: Seriously?! That can’t be right, you’ve made so much good music!! Lemme change THAT

Creeperforce24 responds:

I think this is the first time you gave 5 stars on a song I made! Thanks a ton!

Oh my GOSH I literally love all of your music, you’re so underrated I swear.

AZININE responds:

aha thanks so much man means a lot to me :)

This is really immersive and unique. I would agree with the title here— that pulse feels really powerful, weighted… definitely a sense of pressure there. The sound design throughout is immaculate. Everything here is amazing, keep it up!!

S0MBRASOUNDS responds:

Thank you for the review! I'm really glad you enjoyed this <3

CF’s first audio of 2025!!! Mix is a bit muddy in some parts, but I like the orchestral elements.

Creeperforce24 responds:

I guess, I don’t know if it’s me trying to be less minimal in my songs or my mix is off due to equalizers.

Love all the catchy melodies and 8-bit sounds! This gives the vibe of a really fun bossfight in a classic arcade game.

AzureFrontline responds:

I think so. But this was created for beatblock contest but it didn't won in any categories, if you wondered!

This sound design is AMAZING, keep it up!

itsmevxrto responds:

ty!

Listening on my Audio Technica headphones (amazing audio quality), I’d say the mixing isn’t too bad, but the bass REALLY overpowers everything. The mix feels very overcompressed… it also got very repetitive tbh. However— I love how bright the distortion sounds! The drums also give it a very optimistic feel… the chords as well. Everything about this relates to the title, the hopeful feeling you were going for. This has a lot of potential!

neppium responds:

as I said, distortion and heavy bass is specific for this subgenre
ty for such feedback 🙏🙏
