This is really fun, reminds me of like 2015 EDM in a good way! Also, I love the art. Pixlr E users uniteeee 🙌

That was the whole point of this track 🤣
I made the background by accident when I was experimenting with the Reflect tool on a cloud picture I took in my backyard.
Hot dayum, that drop hittttt, love all the melodies and chords!! Glitch hop is such a fun genre and you really leaned into that with this one, love it!
xd thx!!
Your two main chord patterns aren’t played in the same key or tempo… I like the nature sound effects tho, they enhance the calm mood nicely. Would recommend studying some more music theory, if you haven’t already. Could help you figure out those chords. You’ve got potential!
Yeah it would make sense to slow down the synth beat, it is a little overbearing. I’ll probably make a better version. Thanks for the criteria tho! (Edit: the new version is out, check it out!)
This goes unreasonably hard
EDIT: listening on headphones and I gotta say, you’ve really outdone yourself! The way you used the panning creates the Matrix in my headphones, what an atmosphere!
@G2961 yeah SunVox is fire once you understand how to use it. Lots of sound design potential considering it’s basically an infinite modular synth!
thanks! part of my motivation for this song was conveying the most amount of energy with the least amount of information
Some ideas here have potential, but I would recommend learning a bit more music theory and watching some tutorials on how to mix your song. You may feel overwhelmed at first, but over time you’ll improve and find that it’s truly worth it to pursue music creation as a hobby. Best of luck, remember to have fun with it!!
Thanks. 👍
Congrats on turning 14!! This song is great, I love how emotional the ambient sections sound. Your melodies are absolutely beautiful as usual, with some very fun synths to play them. Really cool pads and chords as well, and the piano is a nice touch.
However, a few critiques:
-the sidechain in the drops is too heavy, and takes off a lot of space
-the buildups are cool on their own, but whenever it reaches that climax, the drops almost seemed disappointing by comparison. Maybe use a softer snare for the buildups, add some noise attack/release to ease the transition, and tone the buildup to match the energy of your drop.
I couldn't have asked for better feedback, thank you so much!
Dawg you’re nasty, go crazy with this FIRE beat
You would make an INSANE producer btw, 100%
Thank you so much you're always hyping me up!! <33
Dang this is so awesome, congrats to everyone involved!
3manon, how tf did you organize this… you’re a legend for taking 400 audio files from a crap ton of different artists across the audio portal and turning them into a coherent song
Yea uhhh it might have taken me 3 whole months to get this done haha. I made sure to organize every people's layers in their respective groups, making sure to color code every submission seperately, otherwise things would get out of hand really quickly! Even still it was one heck of a task to do and really pushed my cpu to it's limits. Nevertheless was it also a really fun thing to host! You're invited to join for next year (as everyone is) ! ;)
I really like this one, it flows super well from one section to the next, and each melodic variation is uniquely beautiful but also synergizes perfectly with the coherent whole of the composition. Also, GOD I’m so jealous playing skills! Being able to not only write something as artistic this but play it flawlessly too? You have a gift, thank you for sharing it with us 😇
Your appreciation is very welcome! It's always nice to me when others connect to the flow I go for. Especially with the amount of rubato, and tempo changes in this one I had big doubts if people would follow the "inner tempo" I was feeling for. Some people would probably say it's too much, but it's a style I love. I'm glad you liked!
I just want to make sure to make clear that, I didn't play the whole thing in one go like this. Each section is practiced and recorded many, many times in many different variations, and quality. I don't always proceed like this, but this one I had to tackle some quite challenging techniques to me that would've made it hard to get a one shot recording good enough to me. I could learn it as it is though since I played all the parts, but knowing me I'll just start composing something else :)
Thanks for the review and good words!
