Positively OOZES uplifting energy! Love this upbeat waltz, especially those sections where you go up the chromatic scale in chords— that is a really fun touch to a fun song in general. Nice composition!

Solacitude responds:

Thank you very much! It was quite interesting to compose too, I'm often more on the darker side. The intro kind of contrasts with the rest of this waltz, a bit like being cheered up by entering into the carnival. I feel like it gives the following parts even more uplifting energy :P I'm glad you enjoyed!

Love this! All the melodic ideas are super fun, and I love the chords. It positively SCREAMS happiness to me, and I like that. The mix could be a little better, but it’s MuseScore so of course it’s not like you have any control over that. Keep it up!

VoidendSound responds:

Actually this is a rare case of one of my songs without musescore, just ableton live, but I get your point, maybe I could improve the first lead sound. Maybe choosing the chords was the funniest part, and THANK YOU for the feedback!

These are the chords! (over B major) I - V7/iii - iii - IV - iv - I - ii/iii - V7/iii - IV - V7

Ooo, I love the snare on this one. The end is so mellow, and those slightly out-of-tune synths really add to this atmosphere you’ve created. Love it!!

datboi7os responds:

Thank you so much I really appreciate it!!! <33

Using microtuning to really nail the vibe you want in a scale is really smart! The key of a song can really define its mood, and raising this one 50 cents adds a more aggressive feel. Really cool!

itsmevxrto responds:

Thanks! This song was originally under my old alias and i just uploaded it here if someone wanted to use it in gd (even tho im not whitelisted)

GOOD LORD YOU COOKED
Good luck in your contest!

vekoN responds:

thank you!

EDIT: i didn't win

Ohhhh no I’m not staying in one of these. This music says it all 😅

Creeperforce24 responds:

You wouldn’t want to… unless it’s a Mrbeast challenge!

I STAYED 10 DAYS IN A 18th CENTURY TENEMENT!

Woosh sound is fine, synths are fine. Mix is good as well. However, that noise stab or something on the 1st beat of each bar could be toned down.
All I would do is add a melody over the chords or give them some context. Otherwise this is fine

HammyMusic responds:

Thanks for the feedback, first time trying non dubstep not saying I'm good at making dubstep, just something new.

You’re still a MASTER of sound design, and again that is on full display here. Love that glitched, metallic sound. Keep it up!!

vekoN responds:

thank you so much!

Holyyyy CRAPPPP another huge project?? Already?? You write these so quickly, your workflow is insane.
No shade on this style but I would love to hear something a little different every once in a while? Purely my opinion

datboi7os responds:

Thank you so much!! It took me a while but I finally have something big coming, I'm really excited to drop all of it!! And thanks for the feedback, it's just the beginning I have tons of different vibes on this album coming soon!

You again showcase just how talented of a composer and pianist you are! The whole thing is just pure bliss to listen to, very emotional and stunning piece. 2:30 though… is something special, I feel like it just really resonated with me, every note. The ornamentation elevates it even further… one of my life goals is to be able to play something like that.
This is a masterpiece, thank you for sharing your talents with us

EDIT: it would appear we have completely opposite approaches to musical composition— my goal is to express my darker emotions, the ones I typically suppress. Music lets me feel them in a controlled environment and turn them into something beautiful. Your goal is to give the positive emotions inside of you to other people (at least in this case), and focus on the good. These are both perfect ways to write music… I love it so much.

Solacitude responds:

Thank you very much!! I am not a beginner, but I'm still far away from the greatest pianists and composers. I feel like it's good enough for an amateur though :)

Some sections of this piece come from moments where I was playing while in a kind of blissful state of mind. It's hard to describe, but it gives a meaning to "heartwarming" because it can be physically felt when it happens, I think you may have grasped onto it! I'm glad it did resonate this way with you! It's the only thing I wish for when sharing especially more felt compositions. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's my favorite :3
