This is completely unexpected… but HOLY CRAP does this style work perfectly!! Amazing work, I love this event so much! So many cool style blends like this one, I’m amazed at how different this is from both of your sounds— while also sounding like something only you would make. Awesome sound, keep it up guys!
This is such unique instrumentation, you both really brought it with this one!! I can easily tell which melodies are dynamic’s and which are crispy’s yet you both blend your sounds in really unique ways… you both tapped into the other’s creative strong suits, and it’s turned out beautifully. Amazing work, both of you!
EDIT: woah woah woah, dont challenge me… I’ve lost ALL confidence in my guesses now lol
I’ll PM you in the morning, and you’ll realize I have no idea what I’m talking about 😂
Thanks very much, score! PM me which melodies you think are mine, and which you think are Dynamic's ;)
Would you mind sending it to me as well?
I absolutely ADORE the glitches interspersed throughout, such a small touch that adds so much atmosphere. The vocals, although seemingly about happiness, feel almost cathartic. All of the production really suits the track as well, everything is just great! Keep it up, SM!
Thank you for your kind words, that's really lovely feedback. <3
This has some fun drum loops!! Definitely has a danceable beat, nice work on that one X! I would have loved to hear more variation though, a lot of it sounds the same throughout— in terms of the melody especially, but also some of the instruments, and overall atmosphere. Some parts feel a bit empty as well, mainly the breakdowns. The whole thing is certainly catchy though, and all has that intense X-500 techno style!
Thanks, OVERSCORE
Perfectionism is SUCH a discourager for producers… don’t let it stop you from finishing tracks! Just because the song is absolutely to your standards, doesn’t mean it’s not worth uploading. I enjoyed this song, loved the quick half-time groove. The 808s went especially crazy, and the experimental chord stabs in the second half. Really unique beat, keep it up!
Romancestep?? New genre just dropped… and so did the BASS
The transition from orchestral instrumentation to growls and such feels very seamless, so nice job on that. I imagine dubstep isn’t too easy on FL mobile, so hats off to you for making it work! I noticed some muddiness in the low frequencies of the second drop, make sure there’s nothing conflicting your bass there. For any instrument that isn’t your bass or kick, you’ll want to EQ out all frequencies below 128 or so, to prevent that muddiness. The composition is very nice, some of your best work in that aspect! I really enjoyed the piano in the beginning of the second verse, although at 2:47 it became a bit distracting. I love how your reverb is applied throughout the song, it sounds super clean! As usual, I truly admire how much you’ve gotten out of FL Mobile. Your dedication has really paid off, and you’re only getting better!
That muddy ness was actually intentional, ever heard of substep? Kinda got inspired by that lol.
But yeah, it ain’t easy with all flms limitations and shi
Ok, time for an actual review! What you said about bedroom producers just rubbed me the wrong way, since I believe that quality can come from anywhere: it’s about how you use the tools you have that makes a song great! It’s awesome that you have such tools at your disposal, I’d highly recommend getting to know them.
This definitely has a boss battle mood, sounds straight out of a video game! I think you could have done without the section at the very end though, as it feels a bit pointless to have the audio fade out twice. Lots of intense and catchy melodies throughout, and the simple bassline underneath gives all of it a warm feel. Some of the notes don’t quite follow the key signature though, which leads to some of that dissonance CF24 mentioned. Check up on your theory :)
My biggest critique here is the instrumentation sounding quite artificial. The sounds are pretty low-quality, which leads to a slightly distorted mix. Speaking of the mix, the frequency spread could use some work, unfortunately— it’s very heavy on the high-mids, but there is virtually no high-freq presence. Working in your studio, that should be a pretty easy fix! One last thing, a small change you could make that would make a big impact is spreading out your instruments in the stereo field, to keep everything from feeling congested in the headphones! Give your sounds some space, and your songs will be much more immersive. It’s simple!
Overall, this is an energetic and upbeat bossfight theme, just some slight issues in the melody and the mix that hold it back somewhat. Incorporate some of those pristine acoustics, that will alleviate the artificial sound of it quite a bit. Good luck in your future musical endeavors, for real this time! I apologize for the earlier review, but next time I hope you’ll think twice before attacking the bedroom producer community 🤷
woah. I understand that a lot of people are jealous of my wealth and success as a musician, but toxicity and bitterness isn't the right way to respond to that. One of my favorite quotes that I came up with is:
"This is just about the worst attitude you could possibly have and you will not, as a matter of fact, ever find success without changing it."
-happyghosts AKA cereal, 2025
Think about that quote for a minute before you question my recording method again. You know nothing, kid NOTHING. If you do not change your review to be more positive I will be forced to issue an "ANGRY" reaction face to it, so think about what you say on other people's music.
Edit: OKAY YOU GET AN ANGRY FACE
Edit2: Yeah about that forum post, I was just poking fun at people who take expensive gear and professional audio recording too seriously.
Thanks for your response. I'm glad you find it energetic I tried to make it sound intense.
Improving frequencies is something I might want to look into, tbh I don't have much experience EQing.
IMO no one really "needs" theory, although that's kind of a big debate that's a little outside the scope of this conversation.
The track is actually meant to loop since it's a potential video game OST so that's why there's the unfitting fadeout at the end
Spreading out the instruments more might be a good idea, I've always been a little reluctant to pan them too much so maybe I wasn't doing it enough.
“THIS is a vegetarian chicken!” is the pinnacle of comedy I was literally rolling in the floor
This is absolutely my favorite remix. Does the original music justice, incorporating the vocals in a new way, but puts that mellow trap beat behind it, some really soothing reverb, and so many other small details that just take the atmosphere to the next level. Really interesting remix!
I really enjoy what QVEST did to this one! It's very faithful to the original with some simple but effective additions :)
